Girlguiding

between the ages of 5 and 65. It is an international
organisation with 750,000 members in the UK and 9
million in another 118 countries. There are
approximately 6500 members in Birmingham and 140 at
St Paul's.
Girlguiding's purpose is to enable girls and young
women to mature into confident, capable and caring
women who are determined, as individuals, to realise
their potential in their career, home and personal
life - and who are willing, as citizens, to
contribute to their community and the wider world.
Girlguiding is about the pleasure of participation,
not the dreariness of sitting on the sidelines. It
means thinking for yourself, self confidence, self
respect, tolerance, kindness, family values and
community spirit.
