Funerals
St Paul’s is a family church and as well as celebrating baptism and marriage we welcome families when they are grieving.
The death of someone we have loved is a very difficult time. We offer support, prayer and the love of God as you move through the first few weeks.
Funerals can take place in a cemetery chapel or a crematorium or they can take place in church. Having a service in church gives more time and space for the service you would like. The minister may take the whole service or the family or family friends may take a part.
The funeral then moves to either cemetery or crematorium for the committal.
There are several choices of destination for the committal and there are new ideas -
- One more recent innovation is a Woodland Burial
The first year after the death, on Remembrance Sunday at 6.30pm we invite you to a Memorial Service. Here we remember the person you have loved by name. In following years you are welcome to ask for them to be named.

Friends at St Paul’s is a group of widows who meet together once a month to share the pain and the recovery, the fun and laughter and enjoy an afternoon together.
